Her friends were lying on the ground bound as well. She awakened to find herself seated in a chair with her hands and legs bound. She worked on a giant mural depicting the company as a grim reaper harvesting the fields of Chilean families, which sparked controversy and caused a wide array of death threats.Ĭarmina and her close friends moved to her childhood home to seek refuge, only to be kidnapped by masked gunmen. She investigated the group and discovered that they gifted art pieces to select disreputable congressmen and the artists seemed to disappear afterward. Her performances launched the Large-Scale Surrealist movement and she become known enough to attract the attention of a multinational enterprise, the Vack Label. Her performances drew the attention of other local artists and she become close friends with them. Several years later, she started painting large scale murals on street corners, adding poetry to it. She launched her black-ink surrealist art, which became her signature art form. Giving life another chance, Carmina was inspired by her ordeal and used the experience in her work. Before she made the jump, a murder of crows, suddenly appeared and began to encircle her, they stared at her and she stared at them confused but felt as if the crows cared about her well being. On Matias' birthday, Carmina attempted to jump off a bridge several blocks away from home, the local nicknamed the spot Death Leap. She was left crippled with severe guilt and self-loathing, causing her to lose her will to create art. One day, Matias, whom their father was supposed to keep an eye on while Carmina rushed to the phone, drowned in a nearby creek. She has a passion for art and she sketched the landscapes of Patagonia while feeding the crows that lived in the tree next to her house. They were left under the care of a verbally abusive father who blamed Carmina for her mother leaving them. She also wears a tattered red dress with decorative pieces resembling feathers made from leather.īorn in a coastal village in Chile, Carmina Mora was the older sister of her brother Matias. In place of her severed hands are liquid, like ink formed into crude replacements. The Artist appears as a tall woman with pale skin, long black hair, with eyes of a bird, more specifically, a crow and black liquid streams from her eyes and mouth.
